EatSmart Products Donates Bathroom Scales to the Northern Illinois Food Bank
On September 30, 2016, EatSmart Products donated over 60 bathroom scales to the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) in Geneva, IL. The digital bathroom scales will be used to teach NIFB attendees the benefits of maintaining a healthy body weight. Many individuals who rely on the NIFB for meals suffer from a variety of food-related ailments, such as Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. A healthy weight is a critical component in managing these diseases.
In addition to obtaining meals from the food bank, many people also utilize NIFB for educational resources. They learn the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices, beginning with the plate and continuing throughout their day.
EatSmart donated the top-rated Precision Digital Bathroom Scale. Not only is this EatSmart’s most popular scale, it’s also the number one best-selling scale on Amazon. The classic design and ease of use make it a customer favorite. Top features include its ability to weigh up to 400 lbs / 180 kg to the nearest .2 lb / 3 oz and its large, easy to read 3.5” LCD display with Accurbright blue backlight. Also included with each scale is a free EatSmart Body Tape Measure that allows users to keep track of body measurements such as the circumference of their waist, hips, bust, arms and thighs.
In addition to the EatSmart bathroom scales, Taylor Precision Products' donations included Chef’n popcorn makers, and miscellaneous thermometers and timers. The total amount exceeded $5,000! The Northern Illinois Food Bank will be able to use these items as they are partnered with 800 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and youth and senior centers in 13 counties to provide food to hungry neighbors. The donated items will be distributed amongst a variety of NIFB programs including food safety initiatives, diabetes/obesity prevention, playworks training to get kids active; just to name a few.
